Founder & CEO
John Dunne
A graduate of Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick (UL), John brings a wealth of international and local expertise to Glenbarrow Physiotherapy. His career began in primary care in Scotland before he spent four years in Singapore, quickly rising to a Senior Position within three years. During his time here he was awarded employee of the month on four separate occasions and received the Service Ambassador Award for outstanding service and patient care. He also presented at the World Congress of Physiotherapy in 2015.
Back in Ireland, John honed his skills in private practice under the guidance of renowned Physiotherapist Johnson McEvoy. He has worked extensively with athletes from Athletics Ireland, Connacht Rugby, Munster Rugby, and numerous GAA county teams including Clare, Westmeath, Sligo, Cavan, Limerick, and Roscommon. John also served as Head Physiotherapist for Tennis Ireland, leading physiotherapy services for the Irish Open in 2019 and the Tennis Europe Open in 2022.
Currently, John balances his clinical work at Glenbarrow Physiotherapy with tutoring roles at University College Dublin and UL. As an active GAA and soccer player, he understands the demands placed on athletes and brings a unique player's perspective to his practice.

Athletic Therapist
Brian McMahon
Brian McMahon is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Cardiac Rehabilitator with extensive expertise in Strength and Conditioning. He has dedicated his career to enhancing athletic performance and recovery for athletes of all levels. Currently, he works with AIL rugby, the SFAI (Schoolboys/Girls Football Association Ireland) and the GAA from Minor to Senior level, providing specialized treatment and Rehabilitation to optimise their recovery and performance. With a strong commitment to promoting wellness and injury prevention, Brian is recognised for his professionalism and dedication in the field of sports therapy.

Athletic Therapist
Kenny Ryan
Kenny is a Certified Athletic Therapist who graduated in 2025 with a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation & Athletic Therapy from SETU Carlow. Throughout his studies, Kenny gained valuable experience in both private clinic settings and pitch-side with local GAA teams.
As part of his final-year dissertation, he presented “The Effect of a Previous Hamstring Injury on Hamstring Strength in Male GAA Hurlers,” which reflected his strong interest in musculoskeletal injuries and the rehabilitation process. Kenny has also been actively involved in his community, volunteering with youth development programmes, coaching juvenile teams, and delivering circuit fitness classes as part of the Healthy Club project.
Having played GAA for many years and completed the Dublin Marathon in 2024, Kenny understands the demands of sport and the importance of effective rehabilitation. He is passionate about helping people return from injury stronger than before, using an evidence-based approach to rebuild confidence and performance.
